We are building an AI that understands your taste so every restaurant recommendation feels like it was made just for you.
The Problem.
Every day, millions of people scroll through restaurant apps looking for the next meal. They see 4.5 stars, 1,000 reviews, and still have no idea if they will actually like the food.
Taste is personal. Recommendations should be too. That is why we built Yulai, a recommendation engine that learns your palate and matches you to dishes, not just places.
The Story.
The idea came during a dinner with friends. Everyone was staring at the menu, defaulting to the "safe" choice. Not because options were bad, but because taste is hard to describe and even harder to compare.
I realized Spotify had solved this for music. Why could we not do the same for food?
With a background in AI and machine learning (Computational Engineering Science, RWTH Aachen University), I started building Yulai. A system that learns your palate and recommends dishes, not just restaurants.
Today, we have a working MVP and we are launching our beta in January 2026.
